Question

4K TV won't display 4K resolution

Aug 22, 2015 6:17PM PDT

Hi,

I just bought a 4K TV. I tested the TV before buying it at the electronic store with a store's laptop (Sony something) by using an HDMI cable and it worked just fine. After I purchased it and connected my laptop using mini displayport-HDMI converter, it didn't support 4K resolution. Later, I connected my desktop by using HDMI cable, not converter, it also didn't show 4K resolution.

I have tried exploring Display options in Control Panel, Intel graphics options, and nVidia graphics options but still haven't found the 4K option. The 1080p resolution is the only one available with laptop & desktop. Why can't I use the 4K resolution?

My laptop is ThinkPad L430 with Intel HD 3000 and my desktop uses Geforce GTX 560Ti.

Thanks.

Regards,

Haris
