I have comcast cable, and Verizon internet. I just purchased 4k tv and Comcast tells me I cannot have 4k unless I have comcast internet is this correct?

.... via their hardware box. You could stream some non-Comcast supplied 4k content via your Verizon internet with either your router/wifi or a wired (ethernet) connection to the HDTV.
