I cannot help you with your problems, But you just bought a turkey. Lets put it this way I just saw an ad at Frys for a 46" d.l.p. t.v. for $975 You can buy real hi-def t.vs for as low as $600 Your e.d.t.v. is only slightly better than an anolog set. So please take it back and let them find a sucker to buy it only joking good luck and tell us your outcome
Hey there -
So my sister just bought a flat screen EDTV; she bought the floor model at the store and got a significant discount. She had hooked up her Panasonic progressive scan DVD player through the composite input on the TV, but a component input was also available. So I went and bought one of those overpriced Monster Component cables and hooked up the component video out on the DVD straight to the component video in on the TV. We noticed the difference in the video quality immediately, but not for the better. In fact, the progressive video, though you could tell there was more range in color and light, was filled with a lot of pixelly static. Even the black space at the top and bottom of the frame were filled with little pixels of light. You can switch it back to interlaced mode on the DVD player itself - I did that and it looked a lot better; the range in color went away, but so did the 'noise'. Anyone know what's up with this? Isn't progressive 480 suppose to look better than interlaced, even on just an EDTV?
Any advice appreciated.
