46B650 Motion Blur

May 6, 2009 1:18AM PDT

Kind of a long story..... I had a 46A650 that developed some clouding, I submitted an online request for service. There are no service centers anywhere near where I live so Samsung offered me a refund or a 46B650 as a replacement since the A650 was discontinued.
I took the B650 since that is probably what I would have bought with a refund anyway. Now....when it got here and I fired it up I couldn't believe the difference. It has the most uniform panel I have ever seen and the black levels are amazing. I left all the settings alone for a couple of hours, watched some things I had recorded in HD on the DVR when I started noticing that when the camera would pan with a character, any stationary object they would pass would seem to ''skip'' across the screen. At first I thought it was AMP, so I turned it off, (I usually left it off on my A650 anyway) along with dynamic contrast, noise reduction and film mode. I then set everything to what I ran my A650 at, back light, brightness, sharpness, ect. with no better results. I'm ruling out any source issues due to the fact that none of the sources or cables have changed. So.....could this issue be caused by the panel being 8 bit or some glitch a firmware fix will solve? I have submitted another service request but I will probably end up with another replacement since there are no service centers to come look at it. If it's something that is just inherit in this new technology then I may want a refund.
