Your iPhone could be on iOS 6 or later, could be one of the dozen models and then your network may be secure. So no one might be able to do a step by step.

The wireless control I used was over my WiFi home network. This involved 20+ steps and for another TV would not be the same steps.

Pairing is usually for bluetooth and the model TV I looked up didn't do bluetooth remote control so that's a dead end. Correct me if you find out otherwise.
