40B655: Wireless dongle and "dents" on crystal frame

Jun 4, 2009 2:07AM PDT

Hi
I got my brand new 40B655 and met two problems:

1. The Samsungs wireless dongle don?t work in upper USB socket.
When I connect it, the screen asks if I want to set up it. After that the wi-fi net is recognized, but it won?t pass the diagnosis process after setup function. On the second step a message of poor PI address etc. appears. I did lots of work and tests with the wi-fi modem and TV, but no help.
Then I changed the dongle to lower USB HD socket and immediately, after the setup function, the system started work properly. When I returned the dongle back to upper USB, the same problem occurs.
My user manual refers to use upper or lower USB socket.
What?s the problem? In my case I definitely want to use the upper for dongle and let the lower for HD drive.

2. Lots of dents on crystal frame
On the frame (the upper horizontal part) there appears very clear a several (5...10) "dents", diameter 5...10 mm, and they annoys me a lot. My ask is, is it possible to change this frame by service man on site? I don?t want to do a DOA and get another poor TV or wait for a several weeks for service return.

Any way I happy with my ne new telly, picture quality is perfect and no clouding or light bleeding. On the other hand right now, here in Finland, we are starting the Mid Night Sun season. It means no sunset or sunrise in one month! So, it is not the best moment to do any judgement of this kind of features Happy

Thanks a lot in advance!

Favourite channel list loses the channels
Jun 4, 2009 4:32PM PDT

Hi again
Now it started working also in upper USB socket ? not working...working...?
Another new problem met. The favourite channel list loses the channels after night. A short term switching out will not clear the list.

40B655: Wireless dongle and "dents" on crystal frame

Mike-Boy,

I don't have a lot of experience with the LE series of televisions. I'm not sure why the dongle would intermittently work in the upper and/or lower port, but have you made sure that your router is accepting the signal and passing information?

As far as the crystal frame, that would be up to service in your area. I'm not sure which region you're inquiring from, but that portion of the website should have either a telephone number or an email that you can inquire about the bezel.

Keep me posted.
