from the BBC Radio series The Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. There are now 3 3 hour series on CD available and it is quite simply the funniest audio recording ever made. Written by the late Douglas Adams who died at the age of 54 in California waiting for the movie version to happen.

I can not recommend it highly enough and since this is not a political post you can trust me on this. I used to recommend music to friends with the proviso that I'd buy it back from them. I'm almost willing to put that proviso on-line.

Almost but not quite.

Rob Boyter (Marvin's younger and slightly more depressed brother)

deprecating. I am not unaware that I am one of only a few salmon swimming against the torrent. In self defence let me say that the salmon are conscious and the river, so far as we know, is not. Happy

What I really wanted to do was to encourage a whole new audience for a show that will, if not change your life, will in fact change the way you see the world, and particuarly how you talk about it.

Amongst friends here it is a sort of short-hand for almost everything.

Try it, youll liiike it!

The original UK tv series was good as well.

Excellently dry humoured tv.

Marvin was depressed even before he had to wait 5 billion years to catch up with his companions who had fast forwarded to the "End of the Universe" restaurant and show.

So by the time he got there, he was a very sad character indeed, Happy

Fantastic 404 page. Very nicely done

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
