40" LED TV FHD SMART type UE40H5303

Jul 25, 2015 11:18PM PDT

Error : check the device is connected properly, try turning on the device by selecting the button below "STB"
I used the easiest solution by connecting to HDMI2, but I cannot use the TV remote any more, only the settopbox remote works, cannot open the E-manual as well....
I don't know if the other solution, deleting the provider has the same implementation.
Why on earth is Samsung selling TV's with a flaw ?
I need some advice on this.
I know I live in Belgium but could not find that edition so I suppose the problem occurs everywhere for that type of TV.
Thanks.

ARC and such is like that.

It's as if the industry has yet to get their act together on integration. This is not news but how things are.

Since Samsung doesn't make the set top box, how can they control what they do?

Led TV problem
Jul 26, 2015 8:20AM PDT

You're probably right but it's disappointing that a brand new TV does not function like it should.
The manual does not say much, the e-manual is a lot of pages that are helpful to get rid of some functions. I had to download it on the computer though.
I suppose that if I delete the provider on the HDMI 1 it will work just as HDMI 2 and I still will not be able to use the remote. Of course I can just ignore the problem and wait for it to start.
Changing channels is also giving a kind of flickering.
The display on the screen is quite clear.
I think I'll contact their support tomorrow.

The TV does work, just integration is where

ARC, as well as one remote that controls over the HDMI (this is called by many names) seems to only work hit and miss. For now you look at Logitech's Harmony line to pull it together.

Integration
Jul 26, 2015 11:23PM PDT

Thanks for your reply.
I will contact their support today and see what they have to say.
The integration is proximus settopbox, there I do not expect them to be of any help but I can try if everything else does not work.
I suppose as soon as the thing works for the time of the warranty, which is 5 years, I should be happy, even if I have to use the STB remote. These days you only have low quality in practically everything, there is just a price difference and expensive brands remain expensive although there is not much difference with the cheap ones.
I am old school and the time that everything works is long gone.

Interesting device
Jul 27, 2015 7:58AM PDT

So far I had contact with them, now it's the turn of the provider.
They will take a little longer to reply.
Looks like an interesting device. Once the shop nearby is back on business after holiday closing, I'll ask him about it. (not the same shop where I bought the TV)
Regards.
