"IBM unveils super-fast microprocessor..."
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11215001/

Ok, seriously, what I want to know is if I upgrade to this processor, are my applications going to open RIGHT when I click on them? I know for a fact that Macromedia Dreamweaver does not open any faster on this 1.5 GHz machine than it the old 533 MHz laptop I used a while back. (Windows was another story).

Any thoughts?

Desktop machines won't see speeds like that until they need them.

You have to take other things into consideration too, especially RAM installed and to some exent HDD speed.
