Question

4 IPV6 addresses

Dec 13, 2016 1:40PM PST

Hello hope someone can answer my question and I thank you in advance. I'm on windows 7 64bit and when I check my ipconfig I notice I have 4 different IPv6 addresses. Two of the addresses just say IPv6 while another shows temporary IPv6 address and the other shows link local IPv6 address. I'm just curious if this is normal or not. I also notice it on my iPhone which shows 3 ipv6 addresses along with one fe address. I use Comcast by the way. I also have a phone line if that makes a difference.

I figured this was fairly normal but reading your question I'm having a hard time understanding your context. Are you saying I've worked on other issues before this? or are you telling me I should work on other issues before this?

Not to offend you.

But this one appears to be as it should be. Once in a while a member will be alarmed about something that is as it should be. Recently a member was disturbed about how the browser or PC connects to a Chromecast and again, it does that. I think they wanted to know why.

That question would have to be answered by Google's own. I'm not on that programming team but have a lot of network and other projects over the years.

So I can check out if it's normal or not.

IPV6

I'm not offended at all I would be more offended if I didn't get a response. I just wanted to make sure someone was not interpreting my question as if it shows two IPV6 address as most people on google or whatever browser you use have asked in the past. I have asked this question on a couple other sites and people had assumed I was referring to two IPV6 addresses instead of the 4 I was mentioning.

-IPV6
-IPV6
-Temp IPV6
-Link Local IPV6

The first two are local and the others have other uses. I know there are tomes on the web about IPV6 but I think I have to keep it at a very high level here as in "that's right."
