General discussion

4 dark borders on 4 sides of the screen

Jun 11, 2010 10:00AM PDT

Hi folks

AMD phenom II X4 955
mobo ? Asus M4A78T-E
Samsung 2494HM display
Win 7 64 bit

There are 4 dark borders on 4 sides of the screen.

Possibly the problem comes from MS Windows 7

On Desktop
-> right click -> Personalization - Desktop Background (on the bottom)

Under "Picture postition"
"Center" - (only this option works)

selecting other options has no function.

Any advice? TIA

Hi LivingForTheFuture,

Thanks for your advice.

The screen resolution has been set to the highest value which is the max resolution of the Samsung LCD display.

Display: 1. SyncMaster
Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (recommended)
Orientation: Landscape
Multiple displays: Show desktop only on 1

-> Advanced settings -> Monitor
Screen refresh rate: 60 Hertz (highest refresh rate)

Colors: True Color (32 bit)

Change picture every: (have no function)
30 minutes (grey out)
Shuffle (greyout)

There's one here.

But a common reply has the Samsung rep always telling us to NAME THE VIDEO INPUT on the Samsung to "PC" (without the quotes.

Good luck,
Bob

Hi R. Proffitt,

Thanks for your advice.

On the built-in software of Samsung there is no such "PC" mode for selection.

The H-position and V-position are NOT available

I didn't see a link for this product's manual so I didn't go looking for it. But noticed you were stuck without any solution so I offered a common answer and noted the Cnet Samsung forum in an effort to move you along.
