More often than not buying from a third party online forces you into a sub-contract, which you do not want to mess with to cover the additional expense if you had to break or leave your contract.
Head to a brick and mortar retailer like best buy, who is also certified to handle Verizon upgrades. In some areas Sam's Club/Wal Mart/Costco offer at least some of the Verizon smartphones.
Keep in mind that now all Verizon smartphones require data plans. There's no way around that one, even with an online e-tailer reselling their service & branded handsets. If you do not currently have a smartphone or data plan then you should expect to be paying for one now. There's more helpful info @ howardforums.com on your options w/ Verizon.
I'm finally eligible for a phone upgrade with my verizon account. I'm trying to find a great deal on a smartphone and I've come across two websites that I think are the same company. Cellstores.com and cheapcellphones.com. They have a section where you can upgrade your phone and the price of a Droid Incredible is a lot less than going through Verizons own site. When I put the phone in the basket though, it seems to me that your not only buying a new phone, but adding more monthly charges and services to your Verizon account. If anyone has any knowledge about these sites or any past transactions, your input would be greatly appreciated. All I want is a new smartphone with the SAME contract I already have.
