I have an Epson C60 inkjet printer and have almost always used 3rd party non-OEM cartridges since the printer was new. I have never had a problem that was not resolved by using the "Clean the print head" option. Ounce in a while I find some genuine Epson cartridges at a good price on eBay and they are usually past the expiration date. I have no problems with the Epson C60 ink-monitor either.Just select "yes" when Epson detects that it is not a genuine Epson cartridge and ask you if you want to continue anyways. The ink monitor works fine with my non-OEM cartridges. It is true that the color prints for photos are better with the genuine Epson cartridge but for the cost, I am satisfied with the 3rd party cartridges. As far as ruining your printer, I can buy a new printer for the cost of a pair of cartridges. For me it is worth the gamble. Now if you use a very expensive printer, you may not want to take the gamble.Contrary to what some Manufacturers would like you to believe, Ink chemistry is not that complex and most reputable manufacturers have no problem matching it. Just make sure you check the reputation of the seller before you purchase their product.
