I have a HP Slimline running Win7, the hard drive became totally corrupted so I had to format and reinstal the OS. I have a set of backup DVD's with all my files but I can not install them on the HDD, they are not recognized as backup files, even though they were made on the same machine with the same OS. Is there a way to install this backup set?

Have you tried to read them with another system?

What backup program did you use? And what exactly happens when you try to restore?
And does the DVD-drive now have the same drive letter (like dHappy it had before the reinstall?
