Many see some adapter on the HDD and think the replacement HDD must have that connection. It's a shame I can't see your model numbers of those drives (old and new) to see what's up.
Fix? Remove the adapter, put on the new drive.
I have a question on installation of 320gb 7200rpm hard drive to my Dell Inspiron 1420. I bought a toshiba 320gb 7200rpm hard drive which has different connector(hard drive to motherboard) than the existed connector.
Can I install 7200rpm hard drive to Dell Inspiron 1420? If yes, how can I change the connector.
Any help would be appreciated.
