Just posting an update from the manual.
I've found that you can turn on Timeshift by going to "Info" while watching a channel and then pressing and holding down the button in the middle of the arrows (the "Enter" button).
This brings you to a screen where you can choose to Record the program or turn on Timeshift.
BUT WHY??? I still can't work out how to just turn it on permanently. When I do the above it is on until I turn-off the TV. So why not just allow me turn it on by default every time I turn on the TV? Or is there a way????? Thanks.
Brought home my new TV and set it up. Found it has no storage so plugged in a USB key, now I can pause and FF/RW/etc.
What I can't do is like on my previous service, it allowed me to rewind the current program without ever having paused. With my Samsung it appears that when you change channel, you have to press pause>play, every time, just in case you want to later rewind. otherwise it's not saving current viewing anywhere by default (until you pause).
Question: Can I set Time-shift to start by default when I go to a news channel? I can't see anything about this in the manual. Seems a bit ridiculous to have to hit pause>play every time!
