Hello, my name is Jimmy Sulecki. I bought my 30g iPod back in 2006 and was very happy with it for about a year and a half. It had the normal wear and tear; I've dropped it a few times but it has never seen water.
In the summer of 2007, I was listening to a song through my iTrip in my car when the sound mysteriously and without warning cut out. I examined it and found that all of the menus worked fine. It could play video, synch up, charge it, format it, and do everything else you could expect a healthy iPod to do, except that no sound comes out.
I've tried about seven different headphones and four different iTrips, and nothing works- the sound just doesn't come out. I have talked to a lot of people about this and so far no one has been able to give me an answer. I tried reformatting it, I updated all of the software on it, and still no luck.
I am now to the point where I just don't care anymore. It's been over a year since I could use it, so now I'm willing to try just about anything. If I were to take it apart, are there any cords, wires, plugs, etc. that may have come unplugged that would stick out or that I could check? If anyone can give me any input on this at all, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot!
