It is possible that a keyboard/mouse driver glitch occurred. Holding down the Ctrl key while scrolling zooms the page in/out, clicking a link opens it in a new tab, et cetera. You should still have been able to access the Restart options, but if the glitch involved another key being virtually pressed, it could cause that too. If the problem does not continue after rebooting, I wouldn't worry about it. Otherwise, you may consider reinstalling the latest drivers.
Hope this helps,
John
Sorry for the nondescriptive title but caouldn't think of a short way to explain wht was going on.
I'm using an HP pc with 64 bit Vista and was browsing Flickr on the firefox browser. I was browsing through pictures this morning and all of a sudden when I clicked on someone elses thumbnail photo instead of opening the photo page my download notice popped up and promptly downloaded the page info onto my pc. I tried clicking on another picture, same thing happened, I'd click on the members screen name and it would open it up in a new tab instead of going directly to it from their page that I clicked from.
And, during this time but not all the time, when I used the scroll wheel on the mouse to try to get to the bottom of the page(where I was going to try to go to the flickr help forum) instead of scrolling down all it would do was scroll in, magnify the page. I don't have a mouse that does that.
Thirdly, So I thought that if I just shut down the pc and let her start up again things might return to normal....but when I went to shut it down it wouldn't let me bring up the "shut down, restart etc" list.
So, any ideas?
Thank you for any insight and sorry for the long description.
