The issue of partitioning beyond the mandatory 1 partition is well discussed. There is a penalty for one drive with a partition for the OS and another for other files as the OS seeks back and forth. But that's your choice to force the longer travel times. There are a few that thought such could save their files from a virus/other pest but that was blown out of the water by newer bugs.
Finally a few thought such files could be saved on the other partition from the OS reinstall and again we read posts asking for help retrieving files.
Be sure what your goals are as well as how you would measure the payoff. Be aware that some RESTORE CDs wipe out such work if they detect it.
Hi! I will thank you if you respond me at one question. Does a laptop work better in 3 partitions?
I've got a Compaq Presario 2800+ mhz, 1600 mhz real speed, processor Mobil Amd Sempron, memory 256 MB, 37.2 Gb Hard Disk, Video Card Ati Radeon Xpress 200M.
