3 Fujitsus owned here

Fujitsu C-6581...C-2210...C-2310
www.fujitsu.com or www.outpost.com or other online dealers.

All of the above have the same port complements. Serial, parallell, usb, SmartCard, MemoryStick, floppy drive, DVD..CD-RW,Irda,and WI-FI etc.

Fifteen inch screens on two of them and a 14 inch screen on the first listed laptop above.

A 13 inch screen is a loser IMHO. Fifteen inch screens are just about right. IMHO!

I use a SONY 19in LCD monitor while working at a desk, with the monitor connected to the laptop and with the laptop screen turned off.

On the C-2210 DVD-CD RW drive it has failed for now. The failure may be because I have fooled around with the laser on the drive. The two other Fujitsus are running fine. The difference in the C-2210 and C-2310 are primarily in the WIFI and RAM updates on the C-2310.

The drive that I need for the Fujitsu C-2210 IS
model DVD/CRW, MATSHITA -UJDA730.

This drive cost about $200 but surely there must be one out there for a little bit less. AND! there needs to be a way to localize the drive failure to the drive itself; so until one can localize the drive failure problem spending 200 for a drive just doesn't seem like the right thing to do.

Currently there are some Fujitsus with DVD-RW and CD-RW drives...add about 200 dollars for these machines...and they may include seperate video ram too.

My units use SHARED ram for video. Works for me though.
