2nd generation iPod Nano has stopped working

Jun 23, 2010 1:58AM PDT

I had purchased this great little 'iPod Nano' in late 2006. It is a second generation model and was working great until last night. As a preface, for quite sometime (2 years ago?) i had noticed that at the very top of the Nano, the white narrow 'lid' which also has the sliding on/off switch, that the middle of the lid popped up a little. How and why ,,i have no idea but it didn't seem to have any bad effect on the performance overall and i always kept it within a leather protective casing. Last night i tried to turn it on and there was NOTHING. I plugged it into a charger and still NOTHING. Upon further inspection the lid was loose and in fact came off. Ill be purchasing a new one now i guess,,would like to get feedback on this.. Is this a typical defect ? Thanks all
