2gb Maxwell Flash drive: Not recognizing Full Capacity

Dec 14, 2010 10:58PM PST

Hi, I have a 2gb Maxwell flash drive, and when I plug it into the computer it says that I only have 1.95mb. I've tried formatting it, but it only formats it to the capacity of 1.95mb.

Any thoughts?

1,95 GB or 1,95 MB? The last would be strange. The first would be fine, I think.

What does Disk Management say about the drive, if you plug it in and run the program?

the nice thing about this is flashdrives are very inexpensive now-a-day.

2 billion bytes?

Besides the old binary bytes vs. decimal bytes that confuses us, some of those bytes get chewed up in formatting to hold the file system.
