256 Color Driver

I running windows me and the color only shows in in 16 colors and there isnt an option for 256 so it looks all messed up. And also the resolution is all wierd. Can someone tell me where to download a driver on the net so it will make the 256 color and the resolutionchanger an option? I tried doing the automatic scan thing to find a better driver but it said and error has occured. So if anyone could tell me where to find a driver like that it would be greatly appreaciated.

You need to find out what kind of video card you have. Chances are it's either ATI, nVidia, or Intel... But there's also S3, Matrox, and SiS which pop up from time to time.

You can also go to the computer manufacturer's web site, service and support, enter your model number and get the drivers there.
