24fps reduces resolution to 1080i

Mar 15, 2009 8:32PM PDT

I have the 46A656 TV which according to specs supoports 1080p and 24fps. I recently bought the blueray BDP 2500. When I activate the 24fps option in the dispaly setting and I put a blue ray to watch, the resolution in the display front panel becomes 1080i. If I deactivate the 24fps option the resolution (when playing a blueray) in the display panel becomes 1080p. Has anyone had the same problem? I installed the new update for the TV and the blueray player and still the same. I even bought a new HDMI 1.3 cable in order to be sure that I have done everything correctly.
