I am not sure I would word things as strongly, but I can concur that it is not working at all on my Mac, with Safari or Firefox. The problem is, I have no clue as to why. The web page is always the same page - register, download and install and scan. No scan seem to be happening at all.
If I open the application, I also get nothing except a window that says "New software found for you computer", another line about my CNET Tech Tracker webpage (see above), a completely empty list and a button that says "Open Page." Clicking on the button does absolutely nothing, either.
So, I am just totally befuddled as to what this is supposed to do. The program has no other options under the menus. Nothing is happening.
I, too, have uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted, etc., but nothing.
I will just uninstall for now and wait to see if something comes out that works.
I cannot believe how badly designed this piece of 'software' is. It does nothing! I mean nothing! It doesn't open at the page it is supposed to, there is absolutely no opportunity to turn anything on or off, despite the installation instructions saying otherwise. It doesn't scan, let alone report. I'm not even certain there is proper code behind it's inteface.
I have tried complete reinstalls, even downloaded a second time (a futile action).
I tried installing it on my iMac (3.06GHz) running 10.5.8, as well as on my Macbook pro (2.53GHz), also 10.5.8. I am running the very latest versions of both Firefox and Safari. I have checked my firewall settings and made certain this program has permission to go both ways.
I have emailed tech support, and after almost 24 hrs no response. It seems (reading the reviews), this is not an isolated problem, and not an isolated lack of response.
Beta!!! Alpha I think. Look guys, please, (and I don't mean to start another Windows V Mac discussion), but, Windows users may be used to flakey software - but with macs it's just not good enough. For g*ds sake either get some decent mac coders, or, don't release this sort of junk before you are certain it works.
Very, very disappointed. Oh, and no, I didn't have to open a new account, i have already had one.
