2011 Budget

Feb 2, 2010 2:25AM PST

A small blip on the radar of one news show I watched last evening and nowhere else is the following:

Within the 3.7T dollar budget 'recommended' by Obama....income from Cap and Trade taxes.

Since Cap and Trade hasn't passed, how is it possible to project income into a budget for a year from now unless 'they' know something none of us are being told?

We are already paying electric bills (and possibly gas/kerosene/propane heat source bills) that are triple what they were last year at this same time, and Obama has already stated that under 'his' agenda and this Cap and Trade bill the energy costs to the taxpayer will 'necessarily skyrocket' (with no end in sight). We are already looking at making utility payments especially during the winter equal to or more than what my house payment is, and I'm having a hard time understanding how he can, with a straight face, go on tv and state that he has cut taxes to 95% of the population, working or otherwise.

Even IF any taxes were cut by the Feds, he left the door wide open for the States and Local Governments to increase heavily all taxes, including personal and real property, in order to maintain their communities because of the Federal cuts that were made to State programs that used to be partially subsidized by the Feds. Those State and Local taxes have been implemented nearly since day one that Obama took office and the people hit the hardest with these increases, including larger home assessments even while the housing market screamed those homes were no longer worth what the old tax charge called for, are the ones who no longer have a job and could afford those increases the least.

AEP (American Electric Power), my electric company, has totally raised their rates in a year (again, just last month) three times at 25% each time....always well ahead of even getting approval to do so. If Cap and Trade passes, and just like declaring the 9-11 terrorists guilty ahead of a trial and just like Obama assumes it will be by including thoses taxes as income in his 2011 budget, I can't even imagine how much higher the electric bills will get to, except to assume people will be forced to make a decision between making a house payment and keeping their electric turned on....just as seniors at one point had to decide between food and medicine.
