A simple solution

If you smell gas, get under the car with a match to look for leaks. Oh wait, that's a bad idea. How about this: Take your Honda to a mechanic or dealer for them to check where the gas is leaking. There are too many possibilities to suggest one for leaking gas, but even a slow leak, which may be a fast leak under pressure while driving, can cause a loss of mileage.
