Question

2005 GTO losing and regaining power while driving

Apr 2, 2016 2:38PM PDT

My 2005 Pontiac GTO is losing electrical power (radio, gauges, a/c) while driving. It started a few months ago and would happen occasionally for only a few seconds, but now it's happening everyday for about five minutes. The car isn't turning off, I'm still able to drive and the power does eventually come back. I'm not having any problems with the car starting up.

Took it to a mechanic who says its faulty sensors (oxygen, evap solenoid, and oil). Says my car is turning off as a preventative measure due to the bad sensors.

I've never heard of that explanation so I just wanted to check in here. Has anyone had a similar issue? Did the sensors fix the issue/does it make sense for replacing them to solve it?
