2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Electrical Issues

Feb 17, 2016 1:20PM PST

Hi Guys. I realize that there is an existing discussion for this, but its a bit hard for me to follow as I am not even remotely close to knowing squat about cars. So. Here it goes:

Stuff that doesn't work:
Power windows
Power locks
Rear windshield wiper
(cabin lights go a little wonky sometimes too)

Probably a bigger deal:
Sluggish starting. Battery tests fine at AutoZone (was replaced recently), and alternator was replaced last weekend. Starts fine on first and second start of the day, but gets sluggish after too many stop/starts when running errands.

I've gathered from other forums and users that there is generally no good to come from taking it to the dealer. Also, I've read things about improper alternator/battery wiring that sound (in car language) like they could be part of the source of my problem as well.

Can anyone dumb this down for me and tell me where to start and what I'm up against?

Thanks.

-Mel
