2003 MS Office Publisher- publishing a website

Oct 15, 2005 4:19PM PDT

I designed a website using MS publisher and am having difficulties publishing it online. I assume there are only certain web servers that are compatible with MS office. Can anyone reccomend a web server compatible with MS that's free of cost? Thanks

..what you have done to try to publish you web site. What problems have you encountered ? I am not familiar with MS Publisher. Would what you have created an HTML document ? I think it does not matter what you use, as long as it is an HTML document.

To publish it...

I went to file, then clicked on "publish to web", and tried several different web servers in the dialogue box. None of them work.

I thought HTML would work, so I just tried it, but the personalized pictures I put on the site didn't work when it was published on the web.

I do not have MS Publisher 2003, but the Publisher 2002 I came across do not have "Flie-->Publish to web". However, what do you mean "None of them work" ? What error messages did you get ?

Even if "Publisher" do the publishing- uploading the files to the server,etc.,--are you supposed to register with the web hosting service first ? If the web site you designed contains pictures which are "inserted" into the document, then those picture files should also be uploaded together. Maybe "publish to web" via "Publisher 2003 is only part of the process. Have you visited the web sites of the servers mentioned in Pulisher 2003 ?

There are other ways to publish to a web site. Go to www.yahoo.com and look for the link for "Geo cities" and go over the information therein. You may be able to make use of the design you created with Publisher 2003.
