2003 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4x4 - 4.0L 6cyl -- stalling

Aug 9, 2008 9:25AM PDT

I need HELP!!! I have spent ALOT of money trying to fix my Jeep. It started stalling about 1 month ago, never had any problems before. It stalled for about 1 week until it no longer started. I've gone through 3 mechanics & not one has actually helped me. I had the vac hose replaced & the crank shaft realigned, it stalled after a day. I was then told it was the fuel pump, so to be safe I replaced the entire fuel assembly, stalled after 3 days. Finally, I was told it was the ECM. I purchased a new one & also purchased a new battery since it died after sitting for 3 weeks. Now, it starts & will stay on but as soon as I accelerate it begins to stall & eventually turns off. The wierd thing is & I can drive it in reverse & it's fine. Also, while I accelerate the gas guage goes up & down or shows I have no gas but it's got at least half tank. I expect some stalling after replacing the ECM since it's relearning the idle speed but not this bad or for this long. Where do I go from here?
