Question

2001 Honda CRV creaking noise when in Park

Mar 14, 2017 3:37PM PDT

I sometimes hear a creaking noise when getting out of my CRV. I did a little investigating and found that it happens as the car rolls back and forth slightly while in park.
This does NOT happen if I roll the car while it is in neutral or if it is moving in gear.
I can set the parking brake to make the noise stop, because then there is no movement in the wheels while in park. It's not moving a LOT while in park, but just as it shifts slightly back and forth.
Sounds like it's coming from around the front driver's side wheel.
Any ideas what this might be? Thanks!
