2 wire headset mic not working

So I own a Hyper X headset with 1 wire with an attachment that can make it into 2 wires, 1 for headset and one for mic. The mic is attached to the headset. I have bought multiple different USB adapters, but no matter which one I use, I can hear headphones audio, but can never use my microphone. I have my mic selected in all of my applications, yet nobody can hear me, nor can I record my voice. Anybody have a fix?

Time to try another mic.

But it does

I actually run a bootcamped mac that runs windows, and my mic does work on other computers. I have heard that it might be because it is a bootcamped mac, but does anyone know how to make it work with a bootcamped mac?

Now you have two problems.

A bootcamped Apple computer is not fun. I run into such and the person that did that may skip driver updates from Apple. Or Microsoft on W10 could install a bum driver. I'm never sure which it is.

So the consensus is to disable W10 driver updates and NEVER accept Microsoft drivers in other Windows then re-install Apple's Bootcamp drivers for your Apple.

The next issue is hardware. There were changes to the mic jack over the years so I can't tell if you have a good setup. This is where running the MacOS is best so you can rule out the Windows OS driver issue.
