Due to potential confusion and abuse the request for editing posts has been shot down several times in the past. You can click here to read what Lee Koo, our forum administrator, had to say about it. Even if it was approved it would take some time to implement...the feature's not just turned off, it doesn't exist yet.
The same would go for deleting a post, particularly considering that if you delete the first post in a thread all replies are automatically deleted too.
For the time being you have two options:
1.) Use the Preview option to take the time and review your post for content, spelling, etc. This is always advisable.
2.) If you realize you posted an incorrect link, replied to the wrong post, etc, you can submit a mod alert on your own post and ask that it be deleted. The need for that should be kept to a minimum, though.

John
I would like to request 2 features for the Forums.
The ability to edit a post that I have posted. It should then be tagged automatically ?Edited by: *user* on yy/mm/dd HH:MM?
I would also like the ability to delete a crap posting that I put up.
e.g. I combined 2 questions in one posting and then found an answer to one by searching the forums. I reposted the other part of my question with a better title and more succinct details and would like to delete my first, more convoluted, post.
