2 RCA Stereo to 3.5mm the same as 3.5mm to 2 rca?

Ok, I am looking at an ebay auction, and the label states "2 RCA Stereo to 3.5mm". Is this the same as 3.5mm to 2 RCA? I am hoping to buy this so I can listen to my ipod on my home theater system...

see if there male or female.. i would assume you need female to hook to the input (since they should be male)

You can also purchase Female-Female barrel connectors if it is Male-Male, or just go to radio shack and buy the correct cable for $5

That IS the correct cable to hook an Ipod up to a stereo. You will be fine.

You should also know that it has limitations if you want to keep your sound quality. To keep it sweet and simple, the volume control in your Ipod is crappy compared to the volume control on your stereo. You should keep your Ipod down as low as possible and pump up your stereo as high as possible to get the best quality. If you are still unhappy after you get the cable and try this, come back and I will tell you how to fix it.

I should not have problems with sound quality. I used to use a cable that combined the 2 into 1... so when I plug it in it only comes out one speaker, so... i'll use 2 bucks and get one for both left and right =D
