Good news and bad news!!!!!
The good news you can import MiniDV into your PC and edit it, then burn a PAL DVD of it. You have to select the approate settings in your software.
The rest is bad news, The analog output will be NTSC won't play on any PAL TV.
You need to see if you can order a different AC adapter, that will work on 220v 50hz power. Some may work with a voltage reducer some may not. Check out the companies web site. John
I'm from Britain but I'm currently on holiday in America and the price of most things is excellent. I've always been after a digital camcorder so I'm thinking of getting one now while I've got the chance to make a really good saving.
I've got two questions tho which people may be able to help shed some light on.
1. Is there an important difference between NTSC and PAL that should be considered? I know there is a difference when it comes to computer games but do digital camcorders have a similar issue? Somethign maybe to do with the capture rate of recordings or transferring footage to a PC?
2. The whole AC power adapter thing. In the USA the plug sockets have a 2-pin socket but back in Britain there is the 3 plug sockets. If I buy a camcorder in the USA it will have the wrong type of AC Adapter with it but does anyone know if you can get replacement power leads on their own in Britain?
Cheers to anyone who can advise on this. Thanks.
