Question

2 PCs but non-interchangeable PS2 mouse (mice)?

Apr 6, 2014 2:10PM PDT

My cat playing caused one desktop mouse to fall on the floor & appears to have damaged the right click function--it is now barely working.

I needed the right click functions, & sought to substitute the damaged mouse for my second machine mouse. Both are PS2, & the second machine mouse is only 2-3 months old.

When I changed the mouse from the backup machine to the main machine, it simply refused to work. All efforts failed to enable it to work.

Is there something that I am missing here that easily explains why this attempted exchanging didn't work?

Thanks.
