The firewall in the router is for internet protection. The firewall in your PC is to:
a. Protect you from other machines on your network.
b. May alert you to unsolicited outbound traffic.
I have SpeedStream 4200 router going to/from a Linksy's Wireless-G router for the computer in the basement. The 4200 router has it's own Siemens firewall enabled. The Linksy's router also has it's own firewall enabled. Does that mean I have 2 firewalls enabled and is that a good thing or a bad thing? As you can tell I'm not very computer savvy. Thanks
