2 External Monitors on Vaio (VGA + HDMI or HDMI to Splitter)

Jul 7, 2009 7:49AM PDT

Hi,

I've got a Vaio which has got an NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT adapter, with a VGA, an HDMI & an S-Video output & I'm trying to connect it to 2 external monitors.

First I tried with an HDMI splitter, but the best I could get was output screen 2 onto both external monitors. I've since tried to use the VGA & HDMI outputs, but I still can't get it to work!?

Is what I'm trying to do possible? I'd be happy outputting to both the externals instead of my laptop if that's possible!?

I'd really appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks in advance!

For 99.99 percent of laptops out there

You get the laptop LCD output and one more output. To get more displays (that are not mirrors or clones) you add more video cards. Here's an example -> http://www.digitaltigers.com/sidecar.asp

There are others, varying in speed so without much specification I'll stop here.
