The printer and the desktop have different IP-addresses. That's is as it should be.
When I installed a new printer last week, I didn't even consider to use it wirelessly (existing Ethernet-cable from desktop to router, wireless from router to printer). I just used the USB-cable that came off the old printer.
I told my wife she could, in principle, now print directly from her iPad or Android phone to the new printer. She wasn't interested at all, since she never prints anything from those devices. Lucky me, because it saves me having to set it up, which most likely after a few hours work would end in a failure. She doesn't mind at all, if she ever wants to print something from tablet or phone, to mail it to herself (or to me!) to print it from the desktop.
You see, we yet have to discover the advantages of wireless printing, like we have to discover the advantages of cloud storage.
Best of luck with the installation. Just do what the installation instruction tells you and it *should* work.

Cannot get the computer to talk to the printer . Does 2 different IP addresses cause the problem ?
