It does slow down. You can often increase speed by keeping under 20 feet to the router but if 5GHz which has less interference is faster, I'd move what you can there.
ALSO, be sure to turn this next thing off on all your W10 machines.

The past few weeks I have noticed that our 2.4 ghz network is becoming slower and slower for each day that passes. The 5ghz one is completely fine.
I tried to reset the router and even changed the network channel. I had 150mbps download and 100mbps upload for like a month ago. The 5ghz one has always been 350-380mbps download and 130 upload. Now I get like 30-40mbps download and upload on 2.4ghz. What should I do to fix this?
