2.4ghz keyboard/mouse compatibility

Dec 2, 2009 7:23AM PST

I have ordered the GK-KM7500 keyboard/mouse combo http://www.bestdirect.ca/products/222261/GK-KM7500/Gigabyte/ as part of an HTPC package. Has anyone tried this or similar 2.4 ghz keyboards with Linux, in particular with LinuxMCE? What about on 64-bit versions of Windows? I need a quick answer otherwise the order will be shipped very soon if it hasn't been already. The guy at the supplier (BestDirect.ca) who answered my call said all USB devices should be auto-detected by all operating systems. I'm not concerned about the programmable buttons, but I'm skeptical about that generalized comment about USB devices.
