Jul 7, 2014 2:21AM PDT

Hi
I've just tried to access my Maxtor external hard drive and it won't start up. The green light's not showing and its not making any noises. I've tried another power cable and that hasn't worked either....HELP!!!

If you see no power, the i/f pcb within the HD case is kaput. as Robert offered remove and install in new ext. USB that you need. If the need if critial you can try a adapter or direct install if desktop type PC. i find using an ext. USB "HD dock" quite useful as well. good luck
