Question

1st time Mac user

Jul 12, 2012 8:30AM PDT

Hello all
I bought an old Ibook g3 OS 10.2.3 from a boot sale.
I'm thinking of getting into Macs as i like the feel.
I have a question about setting up an internet connection.

The airport card in the Mac is only compatible with WEP encryption.
That's no good for me
. All the dongles (USB) I can find are not compatible with OS 10.2.3.
So does anyone know of a dongle that will work with my old Mac OS ? or how hard is it to upgrade the OS (I now nothing about Macs) and if I could upgrade is the laptop powerful enough?
Specs are 800mhz CPU 32mb ati graphics i think 30 g HDD and 256mb ram.....Thank-you

it was for show and tell or as an example of a newly emerging Operating System that had not quite got into stride.

Software is no longer written for the processor that it uses, it won't handle the internet well and, as you have already found out, technology has left it behind.
