1st home theater purchase need help

Sep 4, 2008 9:36PM PDT

I am currently looking to buy a home theater system to go with my new LCD that I bought (Samsung LNT4061F) a few months back. The big issue I am having is that I have to do this on a tight budget. I have about a $300 budget to work with. I have been thinking about getting a HTiB, but I am not sure that that would be the best thing to get. I will be hooking my digital cable box, 360, and a blueray (stand alone or ps3 not sure yet). Any help or info that would point me in the best direction is greatly appreciated.

A decent HTIB is more like $400-500.

Check places like jr.com for about the best prices on HTIBs.

True, HTIBs, in my opinion, are not the best alternative but tight budgets lead most to get an HTIB for the convenience factor.

Most folks don't have the patience to build one's own selection of power source & perhaps just two good speakers to start & can be added onto over time when money is available.
