Ticking noise in engine 200.000 miles always had oil changed 3000 miles or less sometimes sounds like a knock but when I put stethoscope near the area of lifters I hear light tick at number 3 little louder on 4 and louder on 5 and more on 6 pulled valve cover and all rockers had tip of rocker arms were full on oil the last rocker on 6 had very little and the pushrods had more grunge on number 6 then any other cylinders could this noise be sticky gummy lifter hangin up ?

Engine cleanout

Sounds like you might benefit from an engine cleanout. Old method that still works. Drain oil, put new oil filter on. Put gallon of kerosene into engine and one quart of 10-40w oil. Crank and let engine run, but don't drive it, nor put in gear, watch the temperature gauge too. Drain again, replace oil filter, add new oil.

Yes I agree that would probably fixed it I got the head about ready to come off it so I,ll just pull the lifters get a good look at every thing gonna throw a timing chain in it and at the same time since I,m half way there pull the pan check rods and main and and if needed ill pull it out and have it rebuilt the jeep is in very nice condition about everything else ive redone or replaced so that's no biggy Any way much appreciate your time and yes great idea and thx again I,ll let ya know hat I find just for curiosity sake Thx Brian
