1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic Stalls

Apr 18, 2008 4:35AM PDT

My son's Jeep has a stalling problem and no codes are showing up. It always starts/restarts fine, but will stall sometimes (not always) when put in reverse, turning left (not right) or hitting bumps in the road. We just took it to a jeep dealer in town (about 15 miles away and it did not stall once) and they said something about a wiring harness (over $1000 in work). The mechanic said he jiggled the wires and it stalled right out.
It does seem to stall less in warm weather, but since we have not tried it much since winter is over - just the one trip to the dealer - I cannot be sure.
Just wanted a second opinion. We have replaced the neutral safety switch. The jeep has approx. 130,000 miles on it - is a 2wd - and is in otherwise great condition.
