1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4 will not crank

my cherokee with the v8 will not crank. it will turn over and try to crank for just a second then die. it has fuel presure on the fuel rail. has anyone else had this problem?

could be alternator. a burnt alternator killed your battery and it wont start. Or it could the starter
