1994 Jeep Cherokee wont even turn over let alone start

by chenthor / July 15, 2005 9:17 AM PDT

I have a 1994 cherokee with the 4.0 liter engine in it. WHen I place the key in the ignition and turn, nothing happens. No engine, no clicking, nada. I have power as the seatbelt alarm goes off and the radio still works fine. When I turn the igntion, the buzzer sounds a bit strained, but not much. I checked all the battery and ignition cables for tightness and it seems ok. I am a newbie at car repair, any help would be appreciated!!

I have the same problem with my jeep. Key is in, but wont start , no lights, the Security alarm icon wont even show . Have new battery. I think the security system wont let it start properly. engine seems fine.

Please let me know what I can do to disable the alarm system.

There are nasty robots out there that trawl forums such as CNET's looking for email addresses to spam. So have asked Lee from Admin to remove them from your post.

Good luck with your search for an answer.

Wont Start

Try putting the vehicle into nuetral and try starting it, if it starts then you need a nuetral saftey switch witch is located on the side of the transmission.

I have the same problem as it seems hundreds of other Jeep Cherokee owners. it started with the windows not working the right hand back door wont open and then the Alarm does something and drains the battery and the car wont start it clicks but does not turn over if i jump start the car i can get it to run that is for now. I have read on the Jeep forum that someone with the same problem disconnected the battery for 20 minutes and that fixed all the problems i am going to try that tomorrow if anyone knows what to do i would appreciate any help

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
