1990 Jeep Cherokee Intermitent starting

Aug 15, 2009 10:59AM PDT

I have my Jeep 4.0 auto, that is driving me crazy. It cranks, has spark, fuel nut still will not start. I shoot a small amount of Starting fluid in the air box and it starts every time.
Any ideas?
It will always start with the starting fuel but it is a pain and an embarrassment to open the hood and give it a squirt.
